Alberto Salazar

One of my athletes had a good idea tonight. We went to listen to Alberto Salazar speak at the Nike corporate offices while attending the NAIA cross-country championships. He spoke about the importance of living life without any regrets. Alberto was a one-time world record holder and former American record-holder at 5000m and 10,000m. He was also announced as the USATF Coach of the Year for 2009. Jan is going to give her dollar to him and ask for an autographed t-shirt signed by him and some of the Olympian athletes he coaches. Great idea!

Day 9....Sold a House for a Dollar!

Hi Gang..... So last night I made an interesting trade. I have a house I bought as a foreclosure that has just sat empty for a while. Layna offered me a $1 for it (in the spirit of "One-Green-Dollar") saying she thought she could make a go of selling it. So I signed the deed over to her and now she is hard at work trying to help the cause. Good Luck Layna :)

Day 8--Meeting with Michelle Anton

A great night for Project One-Green-Dollar. Had the opportunity to meet Michelle Anton who is a trainer, media expert and VP of CEOSpace Worldwide. Michelle is a renowned entrepreneur, author, and has been an Associate Producer working with Oprah. Michelle has also worked with the likes of Dr. Laura, Montel Williams, Tyra Banks, Robert DeNiro, Leeza, and Deepak Chopra. I told her all about our Project "One-Green-Dollar...." She actually gave me some good ideas and clued me into the idea of "marketing" to a wider audience. Her life philosophy is to live your dream and "PLAY FULL OUT!" I love that idea of playing full-out....I plan on attending a CEOSpace meeting in the new year which will help our experiment REALLY take off :)

Day #7-- Blake & A Craigslist Reply :)

Hi Gang :)
So a rainy day in St. Louis -- What's new :) Did get a Craigslist reply before my barter ad was deleted for violating a rule I was not aware of :) Here is the one reply I did get.........

"I will trade you TWO dollars, for your one.

I would prefer to do this in the mail as its probably cheaper on gas, esp. since I get 6mpg.. Or 15, depending on who I go with. I am not able to drive myself due to not having a license.. lol.

I would send first.

Good luck!"

*******
So I just doubled my own one dollar, so now I am eager awaiting the 2 dollars to arrive!

Congratulations to Blake Austin for finally receiving his coveted "SIMBA AWARD." Brian be on notice your team-mate is off and flying with his one-green-dollar. He turned it into 100 pennies, spray painted each one purple in the Leukemia TNT colors, put them on a card and has made over $20 already in donations passing on his pennies. His race at Illinois College earned him the Simba, but this could earn him a "MUFFASSA" :)

Day #6--Craigslist

Hi Gang :)

So today the cross-country squad got their "one-green-dollars!" So another 20 members of the team are off and running. For fun, I posted the following ad in the barter section of St. Louis Craigslist....I am not sure this is a legitimate trade ad but I want to see if I get a response :)

Good Evening All.........
Here's an interesting challenge! I have challenged my psych class to Project One-Green-Dollar. The idea behind the project is to take one dollar and turn it into much more. So I thought I would start my "Bigger & Better" adventure here. I will trade my $1 for anything "bigger and better"...... The idea behind this is we are going to raise alot of money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.....

So send in your suggestions........ We are also thinking about making this game a book so you have to be willing to have your trade photo-ed :)
Hope everyone is looking forward to a great Thanksgiving....

Congratulations HAAC Champions -- Day 4

The Lindenwood Men's & Women's Cross-Country Teams crushed the opposition to retain their HAAC Cross-Country Championship Title and an automatic berth at the NAIA National Meet next Saturday in Vancouver, Washington. The team is the newest recruitment addition to Project One-Green-Dollar. On Monday they receive their one dollar bills. Now these are very competitive individuals, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with.......
